Cocktail of Week: Drink your Leftovers

So many Thanksgiving leftovers and so little room in the fridge and your belly. My advice? DRINK THEM – with the help of fabulous post-gobble drink recipes below.

Post Thanksgiving cocktails
From sweet potatoes to cranberry sauce, Sidney Frank’s in-house mixologist Todd Richman shows you how to create tasty cocktails using your favorite Turkey Day extras:

The 56 Holiday feast:
In a shaker combine:

2 parts Jägermeister
2 scoops of cranberry sauce
10 mint leaves
1 lemon slice

Shake well with ice, strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a mint sprig and a lemon wedge

Sweet Potato smash
In a shaker combine

2 parts Bärenjäger honey and bourbon
1 scoop of leftover sweet potato puree
3 sage leaves
1/2 part of orange juice

Shake all ingredients well with ice, fine strain into a rocks glass full of fresh ice. Garnish with a sage leaf or an orange slice (optional)

The Cosmopolitan Pilgrim
In a shaker combine

1.5 parts American Harvest
2 scoops of leftover cranberry sauce
3/4 parts fresh lime juice
1/4 part orange liqueur

Add ice and shake well, strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lime wedge

Cocktail of Week: The North Star featuring Hennessey V.S

Spice up your Thanksgiving this year with a little help from Hennessey V.S and The North Star holiday cocktail recipe.

The North Star
THE NORTH STAR

2.5 oz Hennessy V.S

.25 oz maple syrup

1 dash fee brothers black walnut bitters

1 dash angostura bitters

Garnish: 1 star anise

Glass: rocks

Method: add all ingredients to a mixing glass and stir with ice until chilled.
Strain into an old fashioned glass without ice and garnish with a star anise.

Cocktail of ‘Ween Week: Pumpkin drinks are EFFEN® good

It is finally here – Halloween! Let us all raise a glass in honor of our favorite witches, demons, goblins, ghosts, ghouls and ax murderers.

A big EFFEN cheers to Jason, Chucky, Freddy Kreuger, Carrie, Damien, Jigsaw, Norman, Stripe, Jack Torrance and Michael Meyers.

EFFEN® Spiced Pumpkin Cocktail

EFFEN® Vodka Spiced Pumpkin
Created by David Nepove – National President, U.S. Bartender’s Guild

Ingredients:
1½ parts EFFEN® Vodka
2 parts Pumpkin Mix (see recipe below)
¾ parts Pasteurized Egg White

Method: Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker over ice and shake thoroughly.
Strain and pour into a cocktail glass.
Garnish with floating cream with grated vanilla and nutmeg.

Pumpkin Mix
8 parts Canned Pumpkin
8 parts Freshly Pressed Apple Juice
4 tablespoons of Pumpkin Spice
8 parts Spiced Syrup (recipe below)

Method: Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl and mix together.

Spiced Syrup
8 parts Water
8 parts White Sugar
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
4 Whole Cloves
1 Star Anise
1/8 tsp Ground Allspice or 5 Whole Allspice Pods

Method:
Combine all ingredients, except sugar, in stove-top pan and bring to a boil.  Turn
off heat, add sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved. Let cool.  Strain all particles and
refrigerate.  Spiced Syrup will last up to two weeks.

EFFEN® Pumpkin Patch Fizz cocktail

EFFEN® Pumpkin Patch Fizz
Created by David Nepove – National President, U.S. Bartender’s Guild

Ingredients:
2 parts EFFEN® Vodka
1 part Lemon Juice
1 part Cinnamon Syrup
2 parts Club Soda

Method: Add all ingredients, except soda, to a cocktail shaker over ice and shake.
Strain and pour into a tall glass with ice.
Top with club soda and garnish with orange wheel in the glass.

Build ingredients over ice and stir

Garnish: Fresh raspberry and lime twist

Voli Vamp featuring
Voli Lemon

VOLI WICKED MARY

2oz Voli Lemon
2 oz tomato juice
1 tsp horseradish
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2-4 dashes hot sauce
Pinch of salt & pepper

Garnish: Celery stalk, olives, lime wedge
