Cool Peep of the Week: Deniz Making Magic in MTK

27 Aug

By Christabelle… @CBellesCloset (*Pure Editorial, Non-Paid Post)

Who is this “Cool Peep”? My name is Deniz (yes with a Z) and I’m a true New Yorker who’s short, loud and not afraid to be me! I’m 28 years old, but you could say I don’t look a day over 20. I grew up in Queens, New York and went to public school all my life, until I hit college, and then went to St. John’s University. I majored in Communications and pretty much had every job out there, from working as a production assistant for the Jerry Springer Show to a Promo Model for a Liquor Marketing Company. I lived in South Florida last year thinking that Florida would be my new home, but New York has my heart and I had to make the move back home this year. Right now I’m living in Moriches, Long Island and work in Montauk.

Note from CC: this is the FAMOUS Deniz mentioned in my review of the Driftwood Resort last week 🙂

Deniz, what are a few of your favorite things? My favorite things include my vast blazer collection (from H&M to Michael Kors), real NY pizza, shopping, trips to the beach, make-up (I could spend HOURS in Sephora), running, spending the day reading in Barnes and Noble (I love the smell of new books – is that weird?), exciting vacations, challenging myself and learning new things.

What is your favorite haunt? In NYC – Barnes and Noble on 5th and 46th Street – Just spending a few hours reading in a quiet book store while sipping on a Starbucks Latte can do wonders for your psyche.  Florida – Delray and Deerfield Beach. I love running on the beach in Florida, such an amazing way to clear your mind and re-energize. You can also find me having a few drinks at Sandbar.

What handbag are you carrying and what is in it – right now? Coach – Black leather tote bag. TONS of makeup – including my go-to liner Maybelline Stiletto

What is playing on iTunes, right now? Lana Del Rey – Blue Jeans

What is on your wish list? To have my home featured on HGTV! I love interior design and I want to be able to design a beautiful home and have it featured on an HGTV show. I would also like to travel the world and see the world’s most beautiful beaches. Perhaps even buy a home on the ocean.

What song plays when you walk into a room? Back to the Future Theme song – My favorite movie of all time!

Where can we find you next? You’ll find me managing the Driftwood Resort in Montauk, enjoying the beach life. Come visit us through October – the sun is shining and the beach is a gorgeous as ever! Shoot me an email at look forward to seeing you at our property!

Cool Peep of the Week: Thomas La Vecchia, X Marks the Spot

7 May

By Christabelle… @CBellesCloset (*Pure Editorial, Non-Paid Post)

X Factor Digital Marketing President: Tom La Vecchia
I am Jersey born, bred and proud and currently reside in Metuchen, NJ (with my beautiful family).  I’ve spent 20 years in the Corporate world and frankly loved every minute of it.  I have sold everything from heart medication to the Botox competitor.  I love to sell and that is truly my passion.  I’ve sold over $100 million in goods and services over 10 years and wanted to share my secret sauce with the rest of the world.  I authored The X Factor Selling System which is simply a way to influence others through what I call the 4Ps: People, Product, Process and Price.  By knowing which “P” motivates someone it makes it easier to get them to do what you intend.  It’s a short book that is straight and to the point.  It has hit the National Best Seller List for Amazon and has continued to grow quickly up the charts.  After writing the book, I noticed that the traditional sales paradigm had shifted to digital means;  customers still buy, but simply through a different medium.  That is why I branched out into Digital Marketing.

It’s been almost two  years and I haven’t looked back at the corporate world – not once.
NOTE FROM CC: Hence – he is a COOL PEEP!

Spending time with my wife and two children: Felicia and Giuseppe. They are truly my world.  My vices are wine, poker and cigars…I belong in a different era, as I’m one the only one of my friends who enjoys a good stick (i.e. cigar).

I’m on my favorite guilty pleasure It’s basically Hot or Not meets  The basic premise is to view couples and vote who can do better or if they are a perfect match.  Don’t go on it as you will be thoroughly addicted.
NOTE FROM CC: ummmm – totally addicted. Need help – thanks TOM!

Most of our top clients are in NYC and I still love Lavo, La Rivista in the Theatre District and Club Macanudo for a Gloria Cubana cigar.

Random business cards, cigar rings, a bulky wallet (not from money but from receipts) and a Droid Motorola.

That I make homemade wine every year with my father-in-law.

I’m the Man by Aloe Blacc, great song!

We’re in a digital world so check out my web site or our agency site

NOTE FROM CC: Don’t miss Tom and Team X-Factor in the May-June issue of Social Lifestyle Magazine…

Follow Tom and his dynamic team, purchase and read his award winning book COVER TO COVER –  “The X Factor Selling System: The Sale’s Experts Guide to Selling” (#1 on Amazon it its category – need I say more? No, I don’t.  Now go find your “X Factor”  – I did and look where it got me!
